XTMP Homework Assignment #1: GPOY There are two potential interpretations of this work. I encourage you, the readers, to choose whichever interpretation you feel rings the truest. Interpretation #1: This is a flat, two dimensional likeness of myself. In many ways I feel as though that’s the only way I’m ever seen. My depth and perspective are collapsed into a simple image that others see. When I look at this image I see more than you do. I know myself and I see the details that aren’t there, that aren’t readily apparent. You see only two dimensions. You see the sarcastic grin and the half dead eyes. You don’t see who I actually am. Or: Interpretation #2: …it’s a fucking self portrait. I made it in Illustrator and I thought it looked pretty. Jeez guys don’t read to much into it.
